The Global Interaction

The Global Interaction is a fast-paced, intense experience in learning about the world, its peoples, its challenges and the prospects of creating a world that works for all.

Participants assume the role of delegates from various countries. Country delegations vary in size in proportion to actual population. Likewise, the resources of each country are based on the actual natural, human, financial and knowledge resources that are actually present in that country. Some countries have complementary goals with one another; others have goals which appear to conflict. It is the challenge of participants to do their best at representing the interests of their assigned country.

The action is amazingly realistic. Participants get totally immersed in their roles and the time flies by. The most important learnings come from reflecting on the simulation after it is over. The entire group, each delegation and each individual have learnings at many different levels.

Groups of 25-40 are probably best for this experience, but other sizes can work as well. The total experience and debriefs can take from 2-10 hours depending on design. A leader's guide is provided.

Scenarios: 2050

Shaping the future, whether of the planet, our community, or our business requires a constant monitoring of the signs of the times and then a process of imaging, imagining, creating that future. Scenarios: 2050 is a process that allows groups to examine the world, the likely future influences, and the likely "ways that things will turn out."

Most people over the age of 16 can participate meaningfully. Knowledge of or interest in world trends is not critical. For those who have limited knowledge, the scenarios may well awaken interest in world events. The scenarios assist participants in understanding that what they do every day can have important impact on the bigger world.

FGISpirit has created a package of three scenarios about the world in 2050. Participants individually and in groups explore these scenarios, determine the probability of each and then draw conclusions not only about which is most likely, but also what individuals, communities and nations will need to do in order to realize the desired future.
