Looking Glass Leadership Program (LGLP) is a powerful assessment and development program that utilizes a fast-paced business simulation followed by intense feedback to help participants discover themselves as managers, leaders, and team-players. And more importantly, they focus on what real changes they need and are able to make in their day-to-day performance. The program combines the 360° Professional Development Questionnaire, a behavioral questionnaire and the business simulation to provide a highly constructive individual assessment.

The first program design that was called Looking Glass Leadership Program was provided for high potential managers of multi-national corporations doing business in Russia, the Ukraine and the Czech Republic. This same design has also been used with great success for companies solely operating in the U.S.

"I came with an understanding of who I am. I leave with a goal of who I want to be. I came expecting a bicycle. I leave with a BMW."

Looking Glass, Inc.®, is a management simulation of a day in the life of top management, used for the assessment of organizational culture and leadership issues, for team building of intact work groups, for development in managing strategically, building networks, influencing others, and for individual managerial development.

Participants in the Looking Glass® simulation are confronted with a myriad of issues, challenges and problems to deal with - just as they would in any normal business day. Participants are supplied with background information about the company, a description of their jobs, a telephone, desk and an in-basket brimming with possible problems. They must recognize opportunities, make strategic decisions and juggle tactical concerns, while handling a multitude of issues. During the simulation, trainers observe the action and carefully note the skills used, decisions made and the interaction among participants.

The debriefing process is a key element of the simulation. Participants step aside and become a community of learners. Trainers and participants together discover team and individual initiatives and actions. Participants have the time to learn and reflect on how their actions and reactions impacted the outcome of the simulation. By analyzing the entire experience, participants identify patterns of their managerial and organizational behaviors and determine the relevance of the learnings received to the skills they need to be successful and effective for the work of the future.

Note: Looking Glass, Inc.® is a registered mark of the Center for Creative Leadership.
